DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES

Goodwill assists individuals with developmental disabilities in overcoming barriers. We help them recognize and build on their strengths, enabling them to become more independent, productive, and integrated into the community.

People eligible to participate in Goodwill's Developmental Disabilities program have been diagnosed with severe chronic disabilities or mental or physical impairments, including but not limited to:

Mental Retardation
Down's Syndrome
Cerebral Palsy
Spinal Cord Injury

These disabilities must have manifested before the age of 22, and must create substantial limitation on major life activities.

Goals of Developmental Disabilities Services

  • Recognize and build on individual strengths
  • Enable people with intellectual disabilities to become more independent, more productive and an integral part of their community

Goodwill provides individualized training and supports with a focus on

  • social development
  • work skills
  • personal growth

  • Monday through Friday
  • 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m.
